No, but this is interesting. Do you remember that green land rover that someone posted a link to on ebay that was for sale in Leeds not long ago, the one which looked surprisingly like yours. I did some reading up ont he seller, and it's a person who sells the vehicles "from home". That could either be a good thing, or a bad thing if you catch my drift and it might be worth persuing them. I know the garage well that had temporarily stored the vehicle (and they're not the kind to deal with dogey people) but how can you be too sure who's dogey these days? Give them a ring 01943 863530. I'll try and fidn the seller on ebay again. I was watching that land rover for you. How did you manage to find the plates and your personal stuff then?

I've lost the frigging link now and it wasnt in my watched items. It ended a while ago but I'll be able to get some information on it. I'm just trying to find the guys account again

the chances with this 1 are very low my opinion is its been stolen to replace 1 thats been rolled or wrecked ,you say the belongings inside were dumped in a lane what are the chances of some body from leeds knowing about the lane,i would look closer to home, all the same good luck hope you get reunited with it

I'm not saying that. Obviously if martync has found the plates and his belongings near his home (which is not leeds), the vehicle could be anywhere. I'm saying that I've seen one at a garage near me which also appeared on ebay, being sold by someone who supposedly buys and then sells them from his home. It looked very much like martync's land rover (albeit a few obvious changes / removal of parts) and I know that he's desperate to get it back so it's worth investigating it. I've been looking for the seller on ebay for the last hour now but I can't find him.

Definately worth a look.

1) The interior rear roof lining is for a landy with alpine windows.
2) The rear panels look newly fitted
3) The Roof has been painted at the same time as the rear windowed panels
4) The wheel arch spats have been recently painted black. They are usually textured if black from new
Looks suspect to me.

There were some photos and paperwork from my school - the stuff was dumped in the ditch with my things, a member of the public phoned our school to report that someone from our school had been "fly tipping"
A manager went out to see the stuff and saw my sons name on an inhaler and school keys amongst the stuff. only about 6 miles from my school 10 miles from home. The stuff wasnt there yeasterday.

Hi Pos, My school had a phone call from a guy who saw a load of stuff in a ditch - there were some papers from school, the guy - thought the stuff had been fly tipped. When the education manager went out to look at the stuff there was an inhaler with my sons name on it a large bunch of school keys and then obviously all my stuff. 6 miles from school about 10 miles from home.

Well to me this is a massive positive in the whole scheme of things. So basically the number plate and the belongings have appeared in a ditch over night within a 10 mile radius of you? Thats blatantly an attempt to hide any kind of trace (ie. through CCTV at council tips etc.). Chances are then that your land rover has been sat in an industrial unit or a farm somewhere having bits stripped or adjusted ready for re-sale. It's 50/50 whether or not it's still all in one piece but my guess would be yes (I'm an optimist). If there have been any modifications, nows the time that it'll start to appear up for grabs. Keep an even more vigilant eye on ebay and your local area, and definitely check that model out on ebay that was linked to on here. If these crooks have any common sense, they'd have shipped it out of the country next to immediately or they'd have kept it away for a little while until the interest in finding it dies down, and then they'd try putting it out there. I really want you to get this back now. Fact is, someone knows its whereabouts and it could be right under your nose.

Just another thought. I know how eager you are to get this thing back. Most people dont get attached to their stuff and they'd just settle for the insurance payout and get something different / "new". But the whole principle that some ****ty little ****witt has taken your stuff is what really gets to me. I think I'd take a big torch along that road and look in all the ditches for more property tonight, just to at last get a sense of direction, if nothing else. If you're certain that it's only been dumped today / last night then your car has been, and more than likely will still be sat somewhere locally waiting for someone to put down some money. You've got to put yourself in a criminals mind to try and get them. Slight changes, but enough to turn away a curious eye (such as checker plating and new bumpers etc.) even, though they may cost a few quid will not genuinely make much of a loss if they sell the whole thing for 3-4 grand.

hmm... a member of the public phoned the school to report fly tipping?? Why the school? Sounds like, sorry to say, its someone who knows you....and that your son goes to school there...unless your school is in the middle of nowhere..just dont make sense to me why theyd call the school...who is this school person who went out and found the stuff?

You are so right, Yes everything you say seems to be right, the stuff was under my nose AND not hidden as such. The guy who contacted my school said it wasnt there the day before.
I followed the guys instructions to get to the suff and while I was looking in the water filled ditch I noticed in the field the other side of the ditch the numbr plates and One Landrover car seat cover (there were 2 in my car) It was like the Bas***ds had done it deliberatly for me to find. Yes I really would pay a very large reward /randsom for my car's return so yet again please ANY INFORMATION OUT THERE PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

they phoned my school because documents in my car had my school's headed paper in it ( I am a deputy head ) My son doesnt go to my school, I said my sons inhaler was found in the personal belongings found in the ditch. Its a special school for children with severe learning difficulties. My school is in Clent Stourbridge a bit off the beaten track but fairly close to Birmingham. The person who went out to look at the stuff was only responding to the complaint about the stuff being dumped. It was only when she saw the name on the papers and my things that it all started to look very suspect.

The eduation manager informed me and I went out to retrive the rest of the stuff and then I informed the police about the find.

Still reckon its someone who knows you....give me 24 hours to think and assimilate things...a fresh head is often good in these circumstances..all the things you've said seem to be connecting somehow...odd....that its turned up in a ditch now...not very professional i must say...

I say totally dumb to be honest, did they know the police wouldnt follow up this evidence? I think in honesty I would rather not haver found this stuff, A diary that I have had since I bought the car kept in the dashboard - last entry 2/2/09 90,000 on the clock. Yes I have the diary back but it makes it really hard to read it now. It was a very private history of my car.
The millage when my dad died, when I got married, when I found out my wife was expecting a boy, and the millage the day my son was born - total crap to most people but to me it was all part of the life of my Landy.
I would be more than willing to pay for the return of my car - if as said earlier it was worth about 3 or 4 thousand pound then I would pay double that to get her back.
