My new Defender was delivered on 16th August. During the final checks at the dealership, a small leak had been found in a coolant pipe that had supposedly been damaged during assembly. The dealership said they had to change the pipe for a new one.

Since receiving the car, I've only driven 450 miles, but have found that after 100 miles I'm having to top up the coolant reservoir by around 200 mls each time. I can't find any evidence of a leak anywhere and have now asked the dealership to arrange for the car to be inspected.
However, a Google search reveals that there's a lot of reports of mysterious coolant leaks from owners of the new Defenders, particularly in the US. Has anyone here found a similar issue?

Welcome :).

You are doing the right thing I.E getting the dealer to fix it.
You have no "emotional" connection with the vehicle so don't mess about. if its the same when its been "fixed" twice ask for another new car or your money back.

Get a Range rover instead:D.

Update: After 5 weeks in the local dealership garage and 100 miles of them taking the car out on test runs, the leak was finally found and I'm pleased to say it appears to be repaired. The leak was found to be in the charge air cooler and was finally found by using a mirror to detect steam that was being expelled from the cooler.

Just received a call from JLR to say there's outstanding recall work to be done on the car. Booked in next week to have the Engine coolant transfer rail replaced

I thought the whole point was the charge air was supposed to be cold? Ie. intercooler? Now it's an interheater!?

Yep me too:vb-confused2:
But as I said maybe they think the charged air is hotter than the coolant:vb-confused2:.

Why I dont know. just post what a quick goggle brings up.
