hope you folks can help,

i know that zeus can supply a kit for £500 plus the dreaded vat but talkingto people i wondered if this is possible as a diy option....what do i need and what does it all entail....... i have a works engineering shop on hand for any milling/lathing fabrication work and am getting much more betterer with the spanners lol. has anyone on here done one before???

You can buy all the parts off the shelf but it will genuinly cost you about 150-200 quid the alisbury rear disk braked ones early use bolt on caliper mounts off hand they were FTC3306 or somthing similar

You will need to do it properly:
Salisbury Disk type stub axles, (They are different to drun stub axles)
Salisbury Disk caliper mounts FTC3306,
Longer rated stub axle to axle flange bolts and nuts,
Salisbury disk rear hubs,
Salisbury disk 110 rear disks,
Salisbury disk 110 calipers,

I'm in the process and finding out what I need.
I am using salisbury drum stubaxles, rangiefront hubs and 110 bits. Tthe outer most bearing is not fully supported on a plain section over half is and I know guys running this for months but I want to shrink a spacer over it and machine it down to the right diameter.I really need a means of getting the 110 drum braked spacer washers thickness down from about 10mm to about 4mm any suggestions how to do this would be helpful then I can mount my Rangie hubs on the rear because at the moment with it being its full thinckness I cannot get the outter lock nut on fully not enough thread left. Then i will need some caliper brackets and a 6mm spacer to get the 110 calipers central and jobs a goodun! Jai

Thats the one with the bearing not being fully supported and the man used a different key washer a bit naughty but otherwise its great Jai

that tag-washer worked a treat. Had i had more time/enthusiasm, i'd have cut one out of a solid piece and had the "flat" on the washer instead of the tag, or welded up the space and ground it flat again.

Very good write up it must be said. I'm still not convinced myself about the stub axle but if your happy with it why not. My wheel bearings don't last that long anyhows so I'll try and do anything I can to keep them going for as long as possible. Jai
