Finally bought one (well deposit paid and barring a disasterous misdescription from the supplier - which I don't anticipate - should collect it tomorrow Friday 12 April):

2007 registered/ terrain response version 67k miles, facelift.. silver, 2 reg'd keepers, full LR SH... looks very very nice, nice spec and confidently described as an 'A Car' which should equate to my immaculate and not a lemon... hopefully.

Getting 12 month LR warranty, serviced by supplier before we get it and 4 brand new tyres by the supplier.

Am due to collect tomorrow morning after a 5 hour, one way ticket , train journey...

Apart from some dealer taken photographs, I haven't even seen it or the paperwork yet and have gone off the main dealer appraisal as to how immaculate unmarked and perfect this car is inside and out...

The appraisals have been given by the sales staff and the Dealer Principal who has inspected it himself before I committed to buying... and they're buying the tax/ putting a private plate on it today

I have got the formulaic checklist produced by a forum member called Matthew... but am not so sure if I should get my nickers in a twist about every aspect of that checklist... because if buying from a main dealer (their pre delivery inspections etc) and with a 12 month warranty, surely I'm covered one way or another...

Any tips??? Nobody in Cardiff who could pop in today and give it the once over suppose/ Ha??? :)

I'm in the soup if I don't like it!!!

Long way to go back if you have problems and being an LR product you will have problems:eek:

I have a watch, a birthday present from my darling other half, not a cheap watch but not a Rolex...

It is designed and made by the Italian fashion House Diesel, and is one of the biggest watches on the market at 62mm across....

It has been custom made as Diesel don't do that face and the metal strap together and has been custom made to incorperate the strap from one Diesel watch and the face from another....I digress....

It is exquistly made, a dream to wear even if it is as heavy as my L322!!

Heres a Picture:

On the back is engraved the Diesel Motto:

'Only the Brave' -very apt in this scenerio.......buying a car you have never seen, driven, looked over and taken a dealers word on condition and functionality....

Golden Rule has now changed from:
Never ever buy a Range Rover with faults unless you are fully prepared for the costs and what is involved in repairing it

I see you can go in three bars before getting ****ed if you are wearing it. :D:D:D

Water resistant is not the same as waterproof in modern parlance:)

Correcto mundo. I had a divers watch when i did the job with a helium vent in it. Never needed it it was a status symbol at the time. Proper dive watches are pretty nifty bits of kit. :)

Wow, this is brave bordering on insane. I do mean this kindly.
Check everything and before you start brief the sales guy over coffee that you will need about two hours to check that everything works and include a test drive. Do a goo 1/2 hr drive. If you don't know the area, use that as a good reason to put in the post code of say Cowbridge. From that dealer that will take you on a good mix of traffic and roads.
Start with the paperwork and history first while you have a coffee.
They know you are serious to buy the car, they have told you how good it is. Simply make sure it is that good.
maybe even, use the check list to ensure you don't miss anything.
Best of luck.

Also, if you do find something not working, then maybe you can gently advise you need a coutecy car and you can come back when its fixed.

For 12 months your fine, the Land Rover warranty is top draw. After that you're on your own:eek:

I should know bought a new Disco 3 many years ago and that went back at least once a month of the 36 I owned it:)
They stuck me on their own insurance in the end as I was driving their cars more than my own!!

If it's nothing like described I think you can reject it under the distance selling act or something or other.

I didn't think Diesel made anything, it's just a badged Jap movement.
OK researched - Diesel watches are actually Fossil Inc. watches designed by Diesel...

Fossil Inc. Bought Zodiac, the Swiss watch makers, in 2001 and currently have manufacturing centres in China and Switzerland.

Fossil Inc.'s high line watches, Fossil Swiss, started production in Switzerland in 2013...

My watch is a 2012 build so is no doubt a Chinky inside...still don't care, I love it!

Nice bit of kit Ant, enjoy. :):)

So.
Did you get it?

Bought a Diesel watch instead...;)

Outstanding car inside and out.. And; as very accurately described by the main dealer.

Excellent car/ excellent 'deal'. Car appears (by no means 'cheap') but a bargain sold by a credible/ very impressive dealership (there were a few hiccups before the day I collected but the Sales Exec and the Dealer Principal went out of their way to amicably resolve). Was in and out of the dealership/ driving home within 2 hours.

Long drive back.. took near 5 hours to get home due to Friday traffic.. drove like Miss Daisy on cruise control to find out what mpg was achievable.. 200 miles travelled.. and when not sitting in standing traffic, cruised at about 60mph (would'nt have got much further driving faster anyway due to traffic).. car just wafted.. a relaxed drive and an unexpected overall 28.4mpg (no following BP tanker required).

Car won't be used for too much local 'cutting about' hopefully just for longer drives...

Comes with a 12 month LR warranty and breakdown cover. So far so good
