    Buying Advice Freelander 2

Hello All Hope you are all keeping well, I last owned a Freelander about 2009, I have since run an XTrail which has proven to be a very reliable car. She is getting a bit long in the tooth now. I am off this afternoon to look at a 2.2d Freelander 2 Auto. I am not terribly mechanically minded...

    Good Freelander - Surely Not?

Hi all Been a while since I posted as nowt has gone wrong!!!!! Had my 51 reg 1.8 for a year now 75000 when I got it 85000 on now. Just sailed through its MOT, the only money spent £180 on a blown exhaust and £50 for clutch slave cylinder, not bad considering that if you believe some of the...

    Bumper/Plastic restorer

I tried Linseed Oil a while ago but it is very greasy and a bit messy to apply (but does a good job). Yesterday I tried some of the Autoglym Bumper Care £5.99 at Halfords. Its easy to put on and it has cleaned and shined the bumpers really well, mine are the grey ones. Don't know how long it...

    Viscous Coupling Query

Hi all, the damper did that on mine about 5 months ago and a mechanic with lots of freelander experience said he'd seen it numerous times and he just pushed it back on and put two small welds to hold it in place. Absolutely no bother since.

    HID kit on my freelander!

Hi Agree with everyone else they look spot on!! Just been on the ebay link and he reckons its a half hour job even for a beginner. I would describe my self as a beginners beginner. Is it easy or do you need basic car electrical knowledge. Cheers and I have to say again they do look very good.

Very similiar happened to me I was reversing out of a building site and went down a huge pothole, the TC light flashed on for about 2 to 3 seconds then went off again, it hasn't come on since and its running OK. The ABS light shouldn't flash it stays on til you do more than 5 MPH, then it goes...

    Only 1 Blue Freelander?

Cheers mate will have to have a look at the VIN plate tonite to see what colour it is. Very strange though that Halfords only have one colour of blue listed.

    Only 1 Blue Freelander?

Hi Gents - I am going to spray the spare wheel cover on my 51 reg 2001 freelander the same colour as the vehicle (no free advertising for the steelers!!!), I went to Halfords and the colour guide says there is only 1 blue colour for 2001 freelenders onwards - Oslo Blue - anyone know if that is...

    Trim Shine

I applied the Linseed oil very quickly about 3 weeks ago and it still looks superb, if anything I rushed it a bit cos it looked like rain. I guess if you took a bit more time you would get a superb finish. Apply sparingly with a sponge or cloth then wipe over with a clean dry cloth. You also...

    Rear door interior plastic.

Cheers for that, I was just a bit concerned that if I took the trim off the whole rear window would fall out - you know what they are like!!! I have got some proper plastic bumper and trim spray paint so I'll give it a go with that first if it works great, if it doesn't I've lost nowt cos the...

Hi Guys Is it easy to remove the plastic interior lining on the freelander, mines all scuffed and someone has given me some plastic spray paint and obviously I would rather do it off the car, does it effect the window mechanism if you remove the plastic cover? Thanks all.

    Journey into the unknown

Waste of time mate don't know one end of a spanner from the other - plus I was trying to keep the weight down!!! Having said that I have had me heed under the bonnet more in the last month than I have in nearly 30 years of motoring!!!! It's a shame as well because when they work they are decent...

    Journey into the unknown

Cheers - Reading the posts on here over the last month I think preparation for a journey in a freelander is essential!!! You can't just pop out for a run around in one of these!!
