Well, a month into freelander land and I ventured out for a long journey, packed the essentials, water, oil, coolant, tow rope, new head gasket, new engine, credit card, joined the RAC and off I set. 250 trouble free miles later I returned completely unscathed. What are all you people on about, I've had it a month, VCU replaced, new clutch slave and master cylinder, rear window packed in, and engine management light comes on for 20 seconds every few days........ But I drove 250 miles in ONE DAY without breaking down. Reliable as owt!!!!!

Cheers - Reading the posts on here over the last month I think preparation for a journey in a freelander is essential!!! You can't just pop out for a run around in one of these!!

Waste of time mate don't know one end of a spanner from the other - plus I was trying to keep the weight down!!! Having said that I have had me heed under the bonnet more in the last month than I have in nearly 30 years of motoring!!!! It's a shame as well because when they work they are decent cars, plenty of room for the family and mutt!!
