Sounds ike a similar problem I'm having with mine. Someimesstruggles to go into gear, especially when stopped for example driving around stop or at lights, then its a struggle to sometimes get it out of gear and into gear, without force, then its fine... do you think this could be the problem...

I have a 9 year old defender TD5 and my chassis especially at the rear has started to get a coasting of light rust everywhere, changing from its nice black colour to a rusty dull finish... Whats the best way to protect my chassis from any future problems and prolong its life further? :)

During wet weather, winter and offoading my defender sometimes will not start it turns over but wont fire up, it takes multiple turns and it eventually fires up, just turning the key again and again till she starts... Strangely its been fine in the summer weather with no large puddles...

When did land rover start using the grease in the hubs rather than the oil, mine was in for a service last year and they mentioned the seals could do with replacing as there was a minor leak and it could get worse, damp spot basically...Could I just use the one shot grease instead?

Whats the best protection for a standard defender chassis, is waxoyle worth the money and effort applying it, I'm in mud most of the time, and the chassis get pretty grunged up... I've heard of similar protection thats harder wearing... Anyone offer advice...Thanks!
