Whats the best protection for a standard defender chassis, is waxoyle worth the money and effort applying it, I'm in mud most of the time, and the chassis get pretty grunged up... I've heard of similar protection thats harder wearing...

Anyone offer advice...Thanks!

Not sure I've got it in me to follow Storm's advice:D

This summer I'm going to give the KBS 3 part system a try.

Others like POR15

Many prefer Dinitrol to Waxoyl

Loads of threads and even more opinions if you search

Personal view - prep matters!

Ive got Morris Ankor wax on my series 2 chassis and when i get around to welding the defender chassis that will be getting the same.
Seems to resist the pressure washer much better than waxoyl.

Hadn't heard of thatg before Lynall - looks interesting as it says it can be applied to wet surfaces.

One of my worries living in Scotland is getting the inside of the box sections dry!

Link attached if others are interested, and about the same price as waxoyl

Did you spray or brush on Lynall? If spray, how did you thin it?

Hi,
I had my 90's chassis waxoyled by Before and After. It's chuffing expensive but well worth the money. He mixes something with it that makes it stick. I've bashed and scraped my undercarrage and none of it has come off so it definately works. I waxoyled the inside of my front bumper myself and 1 year later nost of it has come off! When I had the MOT done the tester was interested in how well the inside of the chassis was protected so he had a look with a flexi camers thingy. There wasn't one bit missed! I'm sure some people would have different opinions to me but I'd definately take my next Land Rover to him!

I just sprayed it on with a wax applicator by sealey
When its at room temperature its as thin as water so no need to thin it at all.
When im doing any work i brush it on any bits and the bolts before fitting and again once fitted.
If you google ankor wax it can also be used as a polish and this is what the old vw owners do, i also wax my s2 body with it as well, this flows into all the nooks and crannies plus the water all beads off as well.
Basically just brush it on and semi buff it up.
