Disco 2 best way to monitor coolant level?

The BMW tank works, I've got it running on my '52 plate. Tested the tank for 2 yrs for leaks, before wiring it up.

    Facelift headlight clean....

Need I say more! Why the Mods allow this ####wit to post, belies reason, the guy should have been banned years ago. The forum was originally set up to help other members. I can't say either of the 2 previous posts were helpful. Mods, do your job, moderate, get these guys banned. You had a good...

    Facelift headlight clean....

I don't come on here very often, cos it's not D2 orinantated, & the prats you seem to get on here. I prefer the other site, where the gentlemen are, but we're doing a server upgrade ATM, so it's off-line. I've had my Face-lift headlights apart, it's not difficult. You've got to heat the glue up...

Another £1400 in repairs or time to sell up?

You’re not going to get much for it with a blown head gasket, to sell it you’ve got to fix it, or scrap it. You’re getting ripped off for the airbag, Paddocks do them for around £90 & my Granny could fit it in 20 mins. Come & join us on the http://www.thed2boysclub.co.uk, it’s free &...

Discovery 2 td5 power box v remap pro's cons anyone

IMHO power-boxes are a recipe for warped exhaust manifolds. The TD5, being a BMW engine, is very prone to this. Re-map is the way to go. I’ve had a Dynachip re-map for over 2 yrs & no problems. You pays your money & takes your choice. De-EGR is dead easy, but you probably won’t...

    Abs light, Disco 2

Nanocom Evo is even better & pobably more versatile. I use a Nanocom 1, the forerunner of the Evo, & I still don't know half of what it can do.

    Autologic performance tune Disco 2

On the re-map question, I've had mine done by Mike @ Dynachip Went for the economy map & I'm getting around 30mpg. With re-maps, you can warp the exhaust manifold if you drive it like a boy racer. I've had my re-map for nearly 2 yrs & no probs --------------- yet. Just remember to cool the...

    Autologic performance tune Disco 2

Small diesel leak and poor low revs power

If sierrafery's solution doesn't work, check your turbo hoses for de-lamination. Failing that, it may be the fuel pump. I had no problem when I had a leaky FPR, it was just a pig to change.

    Clutch Release Bearing

I hope you're a strong lad. Use a ramp & even pay for it, it'll be worth it. I had DMF failure & changed the lot, clutch & flywheel. It 1st started with what I thought was clutch slip. Symtoms: foot down & revs rise, motor doesn't gain speed, so back off. Well, I thought the clutch was goosed...

    Weird noises....

I may have been a little bit hasty with the 30 sec bit, IIRC it takes about 20 mins for the ECU's to shut down. It just does'nt like where you parked it. The only time to worry is when its on it's arse in the morning.

    any gearbox pro's here

Seems to be quite common on LR's. If the oil seal is leaking, it's probably because the output shaft has a groove worn by the oilseal. The only solution is a new output shaft & new seal.
