sold the sunroofs out of my disco to a chap who is converting a vw t4 transporter into a camper. alot of talk on the t4 forum at the moment apparently is the fact that discos and t4s have the same curvature of roof so the sunroofs fit nice and neat. said if you put vw, transporter in subtitle of ebay listing they will pick up on it and get more for them.

also there is a trend for taking discovery roofs off which are the same dimensions as the short wheelbase t4 for a different look.

its worth posting in their forum too.

i have the "convertable" - roof cut orf by fire brigade - complete and in good nick :).

gotta ge better than weighing it in - specially if the two roof lights are worth a ton :).

keep us informed plse - its ready to collect ;). :nospamhere:

dunno whether its worth a speculative ebay listing with vw etc in it? see if they pick up on it. sure sunroofs will go. my roofs were pretty tidy.

bought this stuff called ultra bright from pound shop, used for cleaning patio furniture and they were gleaming

So they can advertise their VW with a built in shower?

My thoughts exactly! Not too bothered in my uncarpeted 'regularly throw mud through the open windows' off roader but in a leather trimmed shag pile Transporter i dont think the Leak-o-Matic sunroofs would be as popular!

Have refitted a few disco sunroofs after leaks. Trick is to use etch primer on cotton bud. Use windscreen adhesive. Cut tip with a v in it. Means a good peak on adhesive. So seals around outside better.

On the rubber seal, use a small amount of olive oil and rub into the rubber. This stops rubber drying out and hardening.

This is a pic guy I sold sunroofs to just sent me. Sunroof in his t4. Looks good.
