any gearbox pro's here

ive had the box out my disco 3 times this week and have had enough now, it was rebuilt a few weeks ago and is now leaking oil
its been out and apart, new seals fitted (again)

but still leaking!

i think we have narrowed it down to be coming from between the transfer box and gearbox!
on the output shaft from the gearbox that the transfer box slides onto there is a small collar that the seals for both boxes seal onto

does anybody know how far on the shaft it should be??

yeah hes had the box back and fitted new seals, including the inturnal ones in the transfer box, but i have to take it out all the time as he only does rebuilds.

im just trying to find out about this collar!

Seems to be quite common on LR's.
If the oil seal is leaking, it's probably because the output shaft has a groove worn by the oilseal.
The only solution is a new output shaft & new seal.

sorry but I think the man's right , you need to strip it down again . sort of think this would be checked by the rebuilder 1st time round !!
