Hi,

Can anyone tell me please. I have a 2003 TD5 Disco that I just bought from a dubiouse soarce (Gwent 4x4 / NoFear4x4) and the alarm security system is totaly non functional. There is no light on the dash & the key fob does nothing. upon further investigation I found that the original BCU is still in situe & a replacement has been plugged in & just stuffed behind the pannel. Having found this I plugged in the original one & imediately the alarm sounded for a short while but the key fob which does have a good battery did not deactivate it. once the alarm silenced I tried to start the vehichle but the alarm sounded as soon as Itried to put the key in the ignition, I tried to start the car but it was imobilised.
Does this mean that the original BCU is faulty & also the replacement, or has the relpacement come from a vehichle without a security system? and it was put in just to shut up the alarm.
Thanks inadvance for any helpfull suggestions.

^^^ +1 but nanocom or hawkeye will be good aswell... the replacement bcu might be setted on "no immobiliser" status and the original one is immobilised for some reason.... go to a main dealer with the car's papers and find out the original EKA, replug the old BCU and introduce EKA to remobilise it... maybe everything will resume to normal...or at least after it's remobilised u can see what was the fault....it could be a faulty receiver or something

Cheers Sierrafery,
I got the EKA from LR & have used the sequence in another one of your threads, but no joy.
It looks like I`m going to have to spend the money & get it plugged into autologic or something.

F***ck... it means the previous owner have changed the EKA.... it's readable with a tester but i'm not sure the BCU will comunicate with it as long as it's immobilised.

It would seem that LR gave me the wrong code,it was one number out. What they said was that E is 15, but after thinking a while, if a = 10 then e must be 14. So I then tried this and whoopie it worked. With that sorted I then found that the milage still flashes (no biggie) and the ignition turns over bur engine wont start.Any ideas?

Souinds like it now needs a security relearn on Testbook to match the engine ecu to the bcu,and the mileage will stop flashing if you do an odometer update at the same time.

ive got problems with my disco 2 bcu. all of a sudden central locking, elec windows, everything that the bcu controls packed in. the landy wont start all i get is a beeping for 20 seconds when i put ignition on. anyway it went back to the garage i baught it off last week under warranty and theyve sent it to simon services in wakefield and its even confused them so theyve got an auto electrician out 2 it.

u need to plug in a dedicated tester to resync the BCU with the engine ECU and the instrument panel.... IMO after that it will work... Bl**dy ignorants who messed it up

Cheers for that Sierrafery,
I just tried to go there but i`m not allowed in yet (new member) so i`ll try again tommorow, they might have me sorted by then.
