My Suffix D box is stuck in 4th. The RAC replaced the clutch slave cylinder today when I got them out, didn't fancy 45 miles in only 4th!

This hasnt fixed the problem (my slave cylinder incidentaly fooked up today too). Ive had the transmission tunnel off, topped it up with EP90, taken off the gear lever and greased the sliding bars (selectors?) but it still wont come out of 4th, even with the engine off. Any suggestions?

make sure all three selector jwas under gear stick are inline as interlocks wont allow selector shaft to move if other two arent in neutral ,but most likely 3rd/4th selector hub springs broke, needs gear box bell housing off to do if is

so all of them need to be lined up side by side, say use a rule to straighten them? They do have slight movement in as they are but are not lined up

the dentents hold them in position when in right position, move them with screw driver or such till they click in right position which wont need rule to be right but stick should go across easily ,if its in 4th the other 2 should be inline some times rev can get moved accidentally ,interlocks are there to make sure only one shaft and one gear moved and selected at any time

I gave everything a damn good soak in petrol. It was a mix of mud oil and umm. HAIR all over the top of the gearbox!
