I remember working as a cashier in a tiny Bank when I was young and during a
busy Friday lunch period I was the only cashier on. I lent round to spike a
cheque and missed, spike went straight through my hand. I had to pull it
out, bloody cheques and all, and carry on serving the queue with a
handkerchief around my hand. Yes it does hurt! (and I couldn't swear)
The amazing thing was, none of the customers that saw me do it mentioned it.
