I suspect if it wasn't transmitting heights you would see an error on the 4x4 screen something like this but for the front wheel.
The variations in Red may be because of the uneven ground so each corner will have slightly different heights. If my logic is correct 1 corner will be spot on but the other 3 will be higher or lower depending on the ground variation.

At least you found it.
That's why Live data is so useful, although you didnt use it as I would.

But yes the sensor can be checked with a multi meter. Need to also check the connector, If I remember ( will look for diag later) they are 5v supply on 1 of the pins in the connector.
Un plug it put the meter (resistance) on and move it through its range if it changes chance are its in the wiring.

Was it a cheap E-bay sensor?

Yes, I bought the sensor from an online spare parts dealer for €59. It's not an original. I have the one with 3 pins so without headlight regulation. What do you mean by ''and move it through its range if it changes chance are its in the wiring"?

Out of interest: How would you have used the live data?

I had this picture when my old one broke.
It is transmitted but it does not recognize any difference in depth and height. The sensor indicates that it is always at a straight level. The cable was already repaired by a car electrician because I injured it slightly when replacing the sensor.

Unplug it and disconnect the arm at the suspension arm. connect the meter, then move the arm slowly through its range.

If your meter shows a change then the wiring to the sensor needs to be checked.

For live data, In GAP use "live values" pick which ecu and what values you want to see it can be set to a graph and record so then you just go for a little drive so you can look at them later.

Unfortunately, a cable was cut off because I took a test drive without a height sensor. I then secured the cable/plug with a cable tie. A friend then wanted to cut the cable tie and plug the height sensor back in and caught/cut two of the three wires.

After it was repaired and the height sensor was replaced, the error in the display went away and I thought that there were no more problems and that I just had to do the height calibration.

No. On the display it looks like only three are working but the right front one still rises, but not as evenly as the others.

Likely to be a defective sensor, the wiring is monitored for open circuit / short to ground / short to positive and would set a DTC if that were the case, if you can view actual output voltage then disconnect the linkage and move the arm on the sensor, if there is no variance in output voltage then replace the sensor.

Good morning, the error has been found. Both plugs (left and right) had 5V in 5. I swapped the front height sensors left (old) to right and right (new) to left. I moved the arm of the sensor on both sides and tracked the live data. Both sensors on the left worked. None worked on the right. On the right is the plug that was repaired. I looked closely at the connector and wires 1 and 4 were plugged together incorrectly. I bought the new plug and will report on Friday whether the error with the "extended mode" has finally disappeared.

I would like to say a lot of praise and thanks to you. My English isn't the best and I translate some things using Google. It's probably not that easy for you either because some sentences from German to English are not always correct. So thanks!
:)

Hello. I have now soldered the new plug and strangely enough it recognizes it and you can also see the heights, but I cannot save the calibration. It shows me Failure e0 in the GAAP tool. However, if I unplug it I can save.

Getting close then👍.

I dont know the fault/failure do you have screen shots? may help.

This thread may help - it seems the IID doesn't always play nicely with ARC / EAS systems
I don't use IID myself so I can't really be any more help with the error code other than suggesting contacting GAP

I figured out that I have a sensor value of 320 and if I inflate the car on its side and the value falls below 250 I can complete the calibration. The only problem is that the car is then completely crooked.

I'm at the end! So my findings: I swapped the wires, moved the arm and looked at the live values. As expected, the arm finally gave different height values. I thought that the problem was finally solved. After calibration I wanted to save the data and the error e0 came up. After 2 hours I remember the limit values that the height sensor outputs (see Figure 1). I then looked at the live values and realized that my new right height sensor had a value of 366 (the limit is 250 see Figure 2). The height sensor, although it works) gives too high a value and that's why I can't complete the calibration. I then tried swapping all the wires with each other. It worked but no longer gave altitude values or it was not recognized. I do not know how to continue.....
