Adjustable towball heights for 110's?

Could any 110 owners tell me the height of their towbars please?

The tip of the adjustable towball on my 110 300tdi sits at 52cm from the ground, even on its lowest fixing. This is quite high and means my caravan tows nose high.

I had a new chassis fitted last year and at the same time had new standard (or so I think) genuine springs & dampers. The self leveling device was removed as deemed unnecessary!

So is mine higher than everyone elses?

Mine was too high on my previous 110. I endd up having to use an additional 6" dropper plate aswell.
 
Thanks ratty, so I guess I either buy a drop plate or risk the expense of fitting new standard rear springs on the assumption that mine are heavy duty?
 
Cheers ratty. Think I'll try a drop plate first as the cheapest option.

Whats your thoughts on the Dixon Bate Shocklink devices, have you any experience of them? Im wondering if my hard suspension may mean I could do with one, but they are expensive!

I've not had any experience of em so unfortunately can't comment on if they're any good or not.

The only time I managed to bend a drop plate was when I was towing a car out of a barn while on it's roof (there was not enough space to flip it back over in the barn due to several other vehicles in the way). We didn't realise that there had been a pit at the entrance to the barn that was covered over with some now rotten boards. As the car went over the boards the boards colapsed and the car fell into the pit. Funnily enough my landy came to a dead stop.:doh:

I put a couple of scaffold poles under the car to use as runners to raise the car back up to get it out but it still caught on the lip of the pit and took a good tug to get it out. The extended drop plate looked straight but when I later unbolted it to check it had an air gap of 5mm under it when placed on a flat surface. I stuck a new plate on to be safe.
