Is there a way of determining what normal standard height is for a 110? Like a standard gap at the bump stops?

I've just bought and fitted standard height yellow Britpart Heavy duty spring all round - previous springs were a lift at the back, not sure about the front. It wasn't sagging when unladen but when carrying heavy loads it would drop to lower than level and handle like a boat. It never used to do that 20 years ago when I bought it, and as the springs were looking quite rusty I replaced them.

I thought "standard height" would mean it would sit level, but it's now even higher than before. I know for definite because I did the rears first then went for a drive, and the headlights were pointing low. Then I fitted the fronts and it's now at the same angle as before, the headlights are about right again, meaning the fronts are also higher than the old springs.

I also fitted helper springs, but since the front of the motor is also higher than before I don't think they can be the reason. During the swap, looking at new and old springs side by side on the drive they looked exactly the same height. A standard defender sits level doesn't it? Mine has always had a high rear end and a purposeful downward slope, I don't particularly mind except I was looking forward to it being slightly easier to load up at the back...
