Ok after having clasic symptoms of hgf, Loss of coolant and steam out of exhaust I've removed the head and cant see any damage to the gasket or head. slight warpage but thats all. Oil is still clean. anyone have any ideas?. can the gasket go with no obvious signs?. Thanks Aussie

well the wait is over, finally had the head gasket go at 190 000kms. coolant gone, steam from exhaust, but oil is still ok, so I'm hoping no major damage. going to pull the head off tomorrow. wanting to know if there are any traps to watch for?, any tips?. any help would be great. Thanks Aussie

Hi all, does anyone know of a easy way to increase the H.P. on a K 1.8?. I have read hear that these moters are capable of 250 H.P., with rechipping larger ports and throttle bodies. But is there anything else that can give a few extra H.P. without all that work and expense?. Cheers Dylan

Hi, I've read here somewhere that an external thermostat can be fitted that reduces the thermal shock that destroys the HG in the 1.8 petrols. Has anyone fitted one?, are they part of a LR recall?, and lastly are they expensive? Cheers Dylan

have found if my tank is filled above about a third full it leaks. seems to be coming from the left hand side. does anyone know if theres anything there that could leak(hoses, inspection holes)?. had a look and its not coming from the pump. any ideas?? Dylan
