Evening guysssssss hope all good,

I've got a clunk when changing gear or stepping on gas, so ordered new front and rear prop uj's but im thinking now the clunks coming more from rear axle as theres quite a bit of play there, anyway should I order a new diff?? not sure how else i can pin point where it's coming from, if so is it an easy job? (im OKAY with tools lol)

cheers :)

A frame ball joint or spline wear spline wear feels like slack in drivetrain, ball joint can be loud bang or serious knock when taking up power likewise some worn bushes loose nuts could sound similar ish

its just a matter of pulling half shafts out and undoing the 10 nuts 9/16 socket holding diff ,what kind of play just rotational or does diff flange move up/down

L reg disco 10 spline? are the half shafts domed or do they have a deperate drive flange??

I would think its 10 spline and domed type being a disco but its a late one

I should be working on my 90 at the weekend. Interior is Fubar'd and I though I had a huge supply of hub seals but I think I sold them all so I need one hub seal to get the wheels back on which was todays job after work but only managed to get on the axle ends and a few ods n sods. My front halfshaft decided to die driving a kiddies Trial (me being far too cocky / enthusiastic for the tyres in the snow) Lesson learnt!
