P38 Diesel leaky injector cross over pipes

Can anyone suggest where I can get new pipes for the cross over between injectors that is suitable for biodiesel?

mine are all soft (oh er missus) and leaving puddles of fuel wherever I park.

ordinary rubber pipe does not seem to last, the original pipes seem a bit solid with age but soft and soggy at the ends.

Motor factors, ask for spill pipe. Get a couple of metres do all the lot right back to FIP union.

how long have you had the silicone pipe on? does it not get soft?

some days 400 + miles
no problems yet

I used to recommend silicone tubing for this. I use it on my machinery that runs off red diesel, without a problem. But the additives in pump diesel make it swell over time. So i dicontinued using it on road vehicles.

I agree, I bought some silicone rubber tubing from flEbay to do all the leak off pipes and back to the pump, and manifold, they have only been on a month or two but they do feel a bit soft, and seem to have built up a thin layer of rubber (could also be road grime) on the outside that you can scrape off with your nail.

I think I will be changing mine for proper leak off pipes from a motorfactor

Thanks for the comments, I will try the silicone as I run my Rangie on biofuel so I will feed back to the forum if it works or not.

Well I said I would feed back, I tried silicone 6mm with 4mm inner, just too slack, fuel still leaking out. Have temporary fixed with tube from my brake bleeder kit. Need to try 3mm inner pipe next.

I think someone did mention if you use Silicone it needs to be 3mm bore.

Old thread resurection but...
I replaced my leak off pipes about 3 months back and the connection with no4 is very loose and leacking was the same connection as why i replaced in the first place could it be a fault of the injector cos ive just replaced no4-no5 pipe and it still seems loose on no4.
its not cheep pipe eather was bought from four plus 4 in leeds (landrover indy) for £15 per meter

If you are paying £15.00 a metre for spill pipe someone has seen you coming from a very long way off. Metre of proper spill pipe 1/8" bore is around £3.50 retail, less if you get trade.

I know but the stuff at halfords was overbraded so went to a landy place to try to get some internaly braded but that was overbraded too but needed it asap and couldent be arsed going miles back to halfords

You could try putting spring clips on that would help keep the ends clamped

Proper 1/8" 3.2 mm spill pipe should not need clips.

Try telling that to the op

No what im asking is what are the chances of the injector nosel having some kind of fault that lets it leak?
Cos even a new pipe feels loose ie. not as tight as the same pipe is on the other nosels

quite possible but poor starting or air in system wouldnt be a symptom
