Hello.
Had a fault come up on display 3 times now in two weeks! on my 2006 l322 vogue.

Air suspention fault

took it to deelers as under extended select warranty.

deelers logged historic fault and active fault with air suspension but unable to tell me what it is? other than loss of comunication, got to go back for a couple of days in december.

Anyhow took it to another deelers today to get a second opinion and they say the same.
loss of communication.

battery ok

however i have noticed a couple of times that air comp was noisy for a short while on start up.( maybe related, may not)

help please

On the P38 anyway, the EAS is the most finicky of systems to communicate with. The connections at the OBD socket need to be clean and good.

On l322 the diag socket is in the lower dash pocket drivers side and does not suffer the p38 water leak problem

Loss of coms comes down to quite a few issues
1 water ingress into the loom
2 water ingress into the compressor plug
3 water ingress in to a ecu in the link headlamp unit under pass side of the carpet
4 lcs module incorrectly configured

Get the ecu reread and test the rest of the car when diag faults on ese you need to read all the ecus not just one this is where the dealers fall down as they on
Y test the ecu that is at fault not realising that other ecus cause the issues

Had dealers replace compresor under extended warranty.
Also replaced battery with a larger output one.
They did this under a recall?

It seem's these L322's eat battery's as they get older just like the P38's.

A logged communication fault is one of the most common, & not worth worrying about.

Just had fault rear its ugly head again.
Could this be the ecm unit at fault?

Dont want to spend £600 quid on a unit and still have the fault!
Or is it just down the cold weather and having all electrics on at start up?

No it has a manual handbrake. Its a 2006 tdv6

2006 was a big change for L322's with some odd variations,many because of the increasing amount of Ford input.This meant many of the comms networks around the car use different systems from the 02-05 cars.
If it has a TD6 engine I would expect a normal handbrake, TDV6 I would expect an EPB instead.(But you really need a Vin to work out indvidual cars fittings.)
The car may show EAS faults as a result of problems on other systems,but you need to know what network they are on to find them.
IDS or SDD as it is now known is causing problems to many techs at main dealers,but there still should be a printout from it which may help.
I think I would find an independant with an Autologic system as that can be used to show which ECU's are giving comms or not.

Hi guys
Could the instalation of a aftermarket digital tv tuner, and dvd player be the cause of this fault?

Had them bi passed today to find out if they are causing this fault!

Thats where knowing the exact detail of the car would help,for an 06my car I would expect all the infotainment stuff,(TV,Sat Nav,phone,CD etc) to be run around the MOST network - a fibre optic system.
So it depends on how they were fitted.
Did todays diagnostic session shed any light ?

Bin to huddersfield landrover and had great service from them.
They read my system and it has a fault.
Something about voltage loss?
Anyhow it is a fault code that they have never come across.
They have reset the fault and are now in the process of trying to id to fault code via there contact network.

Fingers crossed that they can id this fault code.
I will get the code later and add it on here to see if anyone knows what it could be

Have a look for water ingress and corroded connectors on the box of gubbins behind the left hand side trim in the boot. Causes all sorts of weird effects.

This may be a daft one but it seems to do it more often when its cold?
Is there anything that is temp sensitive that would log an air suspension fault?
