New Oils and Coolant

Hey, just after some opinions on best Oils for engine and gearbox and finally coolant. It's time to do my 6 monthly service and want to know what everyone else goes for, not to bothered if its expensive, I like my engine and gearbox to be looked after lol.

some 10/40 engine oil(well thats what i use) some decent filters ie not britpart jobs a goodun
i change my oil and filter every 2-3k and air fuel etc every 5-6k

go find some tractor oil for the engine

no just go get some expensive stuff, you'll be happier then

Just remember to change it once an a while, i do mine approx every three months! But thats my own personal choice!

Oils for a TDi 300 are as follows:

1. Engine - 7ltrs of 10-40 semi synth

2. Autobox - 5ltrs of Dexron III

3. Trans box (2.5ltrs) and both axles (1.7ltrs each) so a total of 6ltrs - EP80-90 GL-5 oil

Plus a TDi 300 filter kit from Paddocks (oil air and fuel) £6.28+vat.

To be honest I normally buy all my oils and coolant from the local supermarket, in my case Carrefour.
