  • I know what you mean, one of the reasons I went for an import was for the condition and low milage. All of the work so far can be reversed if I want to, I use the car for work as well as to play in so I cant see me fitting winch bumpers or cutting arches etc.

I have put a couple of pics in my profile (before & after) if you want to have a look at the story so far mate.

Laning is very addictive, the most fun you'll ever have going slow lol. Hopefully will be going out locally soon (I have a friend with a lifted slitty who hasnt been out since I sold the RR).
The pic is of my old p38 which I sold last year when I found out my wife was pregnant and got a sensible head on. Lasted 5 months with a volvo t4 before getting the bug to go back to landys lol.

Have currently got a 97 Disco 1 300tdi auto import (looks a lot like yours) which now has a wrap around bull bar with spots, tree sliders and MT tyres. Just a couple of jobs left and then it will be ready for the lanes.
Not been to Stanley in a long time. Currently working as a financial adviser but am also a time served welder which should help with my disco when the time comes. The better half grew up in Branksome, she only moved out about 5 years ago.

    What do you do?
Not actually in Durham mate, closer to Darlington but Durham is more recognisable.

Are you still around the Crook area?
Im slap bang in the middle of North Shields, Wallsend Road.

Unfortunately the scheme asks for a up front payment for £9,999 on a Disco for the three year lease scheme, and no way would I pay that kind of money out for a lease vehicle.

I cant use the purchase scheme either as its got to be less than three years old and less than £45,000 miles, and that means an RR of ... well, way too much for my pocket to afford...haha

I like the style and space offered by the RR but that doesnt mean I have made my mind up yet, hence I am here. I wouldnt mind waving my hand like the Queen while driving around...hahaha

I had an Explorer for 4 years, an old R reg, and I loved her, the ease of driving and getting in and out is just brilliant, hence, Im going back to 4x4, but Explorers are just too old now, hence my eye caught onto the RR, but a Disco may well be as good, time will tell.

And lots of reading up info here...
Hi, Great to meet a neighbour !

I havent got one yet ! and its driving me nuts... I have a Citroen Grande Picasso, which is perfect in every way, but I want a Range Rover so much it hurts...lol

My car is Motability lease, and once September comes I am most certainly going to have myself a P38..

I joined this forum to learn as much as possible, so I am prepared, and know exactly what I am looking for, and so far, so good !
