OK here goes my first post and I need help from you guys.
I have swapped over a range rover evoque 2.2 engine for a freelander 2 engine as the evoque went bang. The freelander engine was bare so I had to swap all the ancillaries over.
It's all gone well except for one thing, the turbo coolant return pipe on the evoque engine bolted via a banjo fitting to the block under the no4 cylinder core plug.
The freelander engine doesn't have the same return fitting. So where does the freelander turbo coolant return pipe fit to? I was going to T it into the heater return pipe which then goes into the egr cooler.

The Freelander 2 turbo doesn't have water cooling, just oil cooling, at least the TD4 engine doesn't, I'm not sure about the SD4 variant. T-ing into the EGR cooler return should be fine though.

Ok thanks for that, should be no issue finding a return , I wasngoing to connect in between the heater return and egr cooler input via a metal T piece.

So first off it's a coolant feed line to the turbo and not the return line so sorry about that.
Anyway I used the coolant pipe outlet from the thermostat which goes to the heater, I cut it and pushed in a T piece the used the reduced T and connected it via a length of suitable coolant hose to the turbo coolant feed pipe. The coolant pipe goes from the thermostat to heater from heater to egr cooler from egr back to the WP. I also thermally insulated the coolant pipe going to the turbo as it gets reasonably close to the exhaust downpipe. I've done 2k miles so far with no issues.
Actually a really nice drive.
My last problem is with my AC but that's another story..
