was out on the plains today just 2 of us..we was on the byways so doin nuffin wrong pulled over for a coffee and a police nissan pathfinder pulled up and the officer was chatting to us,apparantly its not just the landwardens now the police patrol the plains aswell now.

he told us that on saturday he gave 7 on the spot £30 fines to some offroaders who were where they shouldnt have been..

Maybe im an old cynic...but..

Thats £210 fines in one day..by a copper who probably costs that a day in wages..in a 50 grand motor...

Now i know people shouldn't be driving where its not allowed...but..isn't this another case of throwing money away???

Surely there can be better ways to prevent folks breaking the rules and regs than taking a copper away from more serious crimes??

Still...helps keep the crime clearance rates ticking over i suppose..sounds like a waste of everyones time and money to me.

Yeh but they had rest of day to go so could posw treble that.

Ive seen that pathfinder on the plains last year, he drove past us as we were trying to get out of a bomb hole, just off one of the gravel tracks... he didnt even stop..

ho well, another one to keep an eye out for..

how was the plains anyway? is it nice and muddy?

it wernt too bad,bit more rain will do the job..

i did say to us im glad you didnt go down that track cos i wouldnt have followed ya.

all said tho he wernt a bad fella,i think its a two way thing on how you speak to them and how they speak to you aswell as to what the outcome would be

i dont think its a waste of time as there are to many dicks out there just wrecking the place, its just a shame it was only 30 quid, if it was me i would have given them 3 points and a larger fine as its the best way to stop these people.

gotta be more seriouse crimes they could be chasing
i mean! did they hurt anyone? was any kids abused? anyone get stabbed, raped or murdered?
fookin hipacrit ****ers!! :mad::mad:

the problem is... the real fun stuff is hidden off piste... :) there's some proper tracks in the middle of some forest :D

i dont know, someone told me..

but even just the byways are more than enough for a good day out

Must admit, ive never had any probs with the land marshalls/police on the plains.
Each time ive been ive been with an organised group though, we were even allowed on the off road training section!:)

Found these this year, left them well alone!!
