Whenever someone describes a landy as ''an ideal off-roader'' alarm bells ring for me..sounds like it needs a lot of work to get through an mot. The chassis may be beyond repair..or will need replacing before too long, you can't keep patching.

The little petrol engine is also something i'd not personally go for, poor mpg, poor performance.

I'd say you'd be best looking to spend 600-800 on something with a solid chassis thats much easier to save.

Impossible to tell from a description on ebay and a few pictures. Usually if they've been off the road for any length of time you'll be looking at a pile of work. Apart from rot there'll be brakes needing sorting, clutch possibly, brake pipes, maybe cracked tyres, knackered bushes everywhere, more rot, are you getting the picture?

At the age there'll be loads of bits rotting.
I thought the description wasnt as full of bull as most.
Check around the lower bulkhead, the usual place where knackeredness happens first and most.
If it stays around that price then its not so bad.

Good luck with that....

...One careful lady owner, never used off road...

Looks like someone had it too use as a green laner.

Well I went to look at it and am now the proud owner of a lovely landy! It seems really solid underneath, I'm well chuffed :) Drives around the garden well though very juddery in reverse in 4wd. Its cool :)

:p it's got character, may be like triggers broom when your done-but if you enjoy it so be it
