i'll have to look at the stickers in the morning, in me jim jams now and its half way up the road :)

FFS, I've walk 200 yards up to my corner shop in nothing but a pair of slippers and a dressing gown often, the locals used to give me funny looks but they are used to me now

i dunno who is more stoopid - if yu dont care enuf about yo passengers to fit seat belts yu deserve evreyfing yu get.

the thing dont do more than 50, regardless only time the benches get used is when the kids jump in the back on the way to school when its impossible to get above 20. How would seatbelts work on bench seats facing each other anyway ?

Why don't you just take the benches out if there not needed - if you ever did need them to take the rugby club (3 would have to walk) to the pub you can stick them back in.

yer can have a serious crash at any speed-seen the utube vid of the 101 rolling?

you try stopping em jumping in the back when you driving. Anyhow not gonna go into whether its safe or not, the point is they dont come with seatbelts, so is it legal to use them without seatbelts ?
You wanna try taking a bus in central london, no seat belts on those and they drive like they are wannabee race track drivers. Yes the school took the kids to the zoo by public transport last week, scary.

aint it illegal to put kids in seatbelts on side facing seats????

am sure i read that somewhere
I think that's one of them weird legal anomaly things, it would be illegal to put them on a booster or baby seat facing sideways but it is legal (but fookin styOOOOOOpid) to put them strapped in like an adult facing sideways. I don't think the law was prepared for the defender (oops...110) when it was written!

If belts aint been fitted by the factory then the is no problem with the insurance or old bill (my 1968 merc didn't have back seat belts).

The recent laws on booster seats can only be enforced where practical so if you have 3 kids and a small car you aint going to get booster/child seats along the back, they just wont fit so the plod can't do you.

So in the 110 if you don't have belts you don't need child seats however if you don't want to kill your passengers get belts fitted.

At last, the answer I wanted to hear, thankyou Mr Caveman.

So anyway, Day 2 of the quest for insurance, rang the NFU

me:"do you know landrovers"
them: "yes off course sir, whats your post code ?"
me: gives them post code
them: "sorry sir, we are a rural insurance company, we dont do london post codes.
me: rips telephone out off wall socket and throws out the window

stay tuned for the latest exciting installment of "lets insure our 110 defender, oops I mean csw, maybe just a 110"

OK just rang specialist land rover insurers sureterm.

them: 2 secs, running it through for you.
