I don't want to sound rude mate, but if you can't get that stupid bit of plastic off, how on earth will you cope with removing and replacing the bottom hose   and re-filling and bleeding the cooling system.
Good luck.

i don't think you have ever removed this cover as it is not as easy as you make out it does not just bolt off it is wedged in i think you have to unbolt cross member and slide it back will get a manual and have a look i thought i mite get some sensible advice but was obviously wrong.

First look at the badge on the back of your vehicle. Not the one that says TD5. We know it's a TD5. Not the green oval saying landrover. We know it's a landrover. There should be another one. It might say DISCOVERY. It might say DEFENDER. TD5 IS AN ENGINE AND NOT A VEHICLE. THE BOTTOM COVER IS ATTATCHED TO THE VEHICLE.:D :D :D

By the way. Welcome to the forum. **** taking and banter is part and parcel of this establishment. A thick skin is advised. If you are after straight talking, boring, nerdy statistics and straight answers, you're in the wrong place. If you enjoy a laugh and joke with the occasional dash of useful landrover talk , you've found the right place.

You should not need to remove the crossmember to take the bottom tray off. Do you have a replacement bottom hose ready to go on? How do you know it's the bottom hose leaking and not the radiator if the tray is in the way preventing you from seeing the leak? Where does the leak appear to be coming from?
