Im trying to get the handle assembly fitted, and was struggling with the fastners, britrest had a vid that helped with the barrel, but trying to get the 4 bolts in and nuts on the end is a pain in the arse!!!
I think ive figured it out anyway.
Im going to fit them to ensure all is correct then paint them, and all being well i'll sell the old doors as the missus is going a bit mental with huge boxes everywhere! Haha

There are a couple of bolts you can't reach so there is a long plate with a stud welded to it that fits in the handle hole on the outsite of the door and the nut winds on the back holding the handle assembly in place.
Same as the back door ....
This also stops the tea-leaves unscrewing the handle and breaking in ...

Hi, no long plate with studs, just 4 Torx bolts, ive got them on (eventually!!!!) but i think ill fabricate something in work.

Thats a bugger (and not right) ... here's what you need ...,

This one ^^ as @miktdish has show. Is what you need for fitting the handles. You can just about do it with hex bolts if you have a flex head spanner but I would recommend the correct fittings as they make everything else a lot easier. I test fitted my door bottoms from sp4x4 this evening (link) and it took me about 15min per door (bottoms only) to fit the lock, fit the door, check it worked and then strip it back down off the vehicle with the latch removed. I am using the correct bolt plates pictured above however.

I will also point out that from the pics on eBay (not read the description) you will need some additional peices to assemble the full door unless it comes with them and they are not shown (the pic shows the plates above!). You will need cappings to fit the top of the door bottom before fitting the top: link. They are handed for each door.

Ffs! Yes im missing some bits and i didnt know id need cappings!
The listing says 'full kit, everything you need' obviously not.
Thanks for the info, ive assembled the drivers door and i thought the window looked at an odd angle.
Ive no workshop so its got to be right prior to fitting as i want minimum exposure to the elements for me and the truck.

Put the two inside bolts in the h@ndle then feed it into the door wee bit of wiggling the bolts n they go in.
if your struggling put t@pe over the end of the ring end of the sp@nner n stick the bolt in then feed it in. :)

I installed mine (series 3 style doors) without those brackets. It's a bit of a fiddle and easiest done with the door removed and laid flat, but is OK.
Overall fit is OK, but not amazing. I found the door tops come up sticking our further backwards, maybe 2mm than the OE, which makes the clearance between the top corner of the door and the B post a bit tighter than I'd like.

Well after some faffing about with missing parts the doors are on and im very happy with them.
Initially i couldnt get them to lock and after some searching online i found out that the latch may not be fully seating, removed some door seal and all worked, had to cut the last foot of door seal and just reversed it for now.
Any way easy enough to fit and the space it now gives you feels massive! Plus somehow its quieter and warmer even though its just a bare single skin?
Im painting them this week and the only other thing is the plastic catches for the windows are rubbish so need to find a better alternative?

All considered id reccommend them as an upgrade/replacement.

(P.s the original doors are in the sales section if anyone is looking;) )

If you have lots and lots of money I would also recommend the ali version door tops. Either s/h ex military or there is a company that makes them. Then You get windows that slide open both ways. you can also get ex military door card that have a handle and door pocket. Again I am sure there will be a company selling them new as well.
But I completely agree. Much better, more room, and more Land Rover. The ones price doors were a terrible Idea!
