The bolt under the pedal is not the problem its the nut behind the wheel. ;);)The car will only go as fast as you make it go with your right foot. As previously stated its only to stop you straining the cable or something else when you get excited. The rev limiter is to prevent engine overspeed. If its not causing you a problem I'd leave well alone.

Your average squaddie is not the most delicate of beings especially when it comes to driving whilst being shot at or having the **** ripped out of him by his mates because he drives like a Doris.

my ex army 90 has a bolt thru the pedal , as explaned above to stop stretching the cable etc, leave it in , i hapily do 45 -55 max, in the 2.5na no probs, they were never a flying machine,

mines got a bolt through the pedal. Its an ex conrico international vehicle.

I like it how it is :). Its a 200tdi will do 70 no probs, but I sit at 55 60 quite happily in the knowledge its comfortable for her.

I've got a defender 200tdi everythings the defender spec, in a 1989 pick up! surely this must have been converted from the original v8?

ive voted for unrestrict it.Then ya can see thats as godd as it gets then ya can put it back to how it was.

mines got the same bolt as yours wich is wound right out atm, only trouble with mine is that when u hit 60, if you put your foot right to the floor it will loose power and drop down to 50, it doesnt bother me because ive found just the right spot and just hold it at that

ahahah cheers

just adjust it so that it doesn't strain the linkage. Easy. I quite often sit at 65 in my 2.5na 90, and it seems quite happy to be honest. It's over 70 that it starts to sounds too loud. It's quite happy at 50 mph in 4th gear as well.
