Cheap De-cat pipes made to order!

Has anyone bought anything from this seller?

2.5 x 10" 63 x 250mm Downpipe Exhaust FlexiPipe Repair De cat bypass pipe 2 1/2" | eBay

Apparently he can make up stainless steel pipes any length, with any diameter of sleeving / adaptors, and includes clamps.

Have a look at his other items.

He has a whole range of stuff listed and can make to order if required.

Price and postage seems reasonable.

Iirc there is no cat required for a diesel to pass the Mot

i knocked the cat out of my td4 6 years ago,makes slight difference to the sound,the engine deff breathes better , looks original , just nothing inside the pipe,no need to buy a different pipe,(wear a face mask if you do knock the internals out) , engine breathes a lot better,and you dont get that sulphur smell
the mot is just a smoke test

EGR and CAT are not currently required for an MOT

Anything that improves the engines ability to breath ether in or out should improve mpg due to a reduction of pumping losses.

Probably but I am gonna do this soon as i am curious of the resulting mileage and overall effect on the performance

ive just fitted a decat to my l series. it was £30 delivered inc gaskets and new bolts etc.

20 minute job to fit and its noticeable improved the engine, i think the old cat was a bit clogged up so if yours is ok presently maybe the difference wouldnt be as noticeable?

i reckon the mpg has improved a smidge (could be in my head) as the engine does feel notably free'r to rev etc.

I havent noticed any difference in noise.

its also a bit lighter (few hundred grams)

one less thing to go wrong?

And i was offered £120 for my old knackered cat!!!!!( i think bloke didnt know what he was doing so i snapped his hand off!)

Be alright untill you mot it, unless you know a friendly tester

I was thinking about taking mine out, cutting in in half and taking out the innards then welding it back up. Looks standard then.

when people are flogging complete decats for £30 can you really compete?

people can keep their cats ready to refit for mot if needed?

Thats why I didn't bother, figured it would be cheaper to knock up a cheap basic decat rather than spend a couple of hours chopping, gutting and welding!
