Disco 1 300tdi auto no reverse lights

Just got in from work to find the reverse lights are not coming on has been playing up a few times not coming on put in park back to reverse and they are on but now completely dead.i take it that the switch has gone but can't find a replacement for auto box.can someone give a part number for this or is there something I else I should check first.fuse and bulbs OK.

First check the 12v supply to the fuse, then the fuse, then the bulbs and the supply to them.

£200..... I have a pound of flesh,blood and my soul but £200...they can go and f**k spiders!!!..unless it's made of gold or packed with diamonds just can't see how a simple switch can warrant such a high price.will check over this tomorrow.

I know... but your be very unlucky if it is the switch, there's not much said about it on the various disco Forums so I take that as they don't have much to go wrong.

Pulled the connector for the switch and cleaned all seems well now just have to see how it goes.

needing a new switch isnt uncommon ,though id get a decent second hand one,though ive probably got several, bridge the 2 rev light wires in vehicle side of the connector to prove switch or not

The only way to check switch is with a multimeter set it to test for continuity work the switch a couple of times in situ then take the switch out and check on the bench you'll know if it's the switch straight away. Your problem to me seems like a high resistance the wiring loom and plugs/connectors around the box can get quite muddy check if there is a volt drop at the wires/plug to the switch use rev light fuse as a reference
