WVO a few more questions

I have access to 20 litres of wvo a week, once its filtered how do you guys put it in your P38s, im gonna run 50/50 hopefully, do you premix with diesel or just pour in the tank on top of diesel ?

Im not too bothered if 30-40% is more realistic as any savings good.

Anyone run their P38 long term on WVO/diesel, hows it going ?

I put diesel first then wvo.50/50 fine in summer winter it might need less...listen to your fuel pump when it ticks a lot put more diesel in !

Before you chuck it in......what make of injector pump does it have ?
VERY IMPORTANT if it's a LUCAS you will kill the pump.

Pretty sure its a bosch pump, maybe I should start with 30%, I dont really want to go up the heater route

So are you saying this is all I need to run 50/50, Is this Ok with diesel as well ?

I used to run 100% in a pug 406 but that was an IDI engine...i think the p38 is DI ?
The problem with veg oil is that it has a higher viscosity then derv so to reduce this heating is an idea.
Try 10% to begin with and add more if it runs ok.

the DI engines will struggle to start with too much oil in them when it is cold.Plus if its too high a concentration and runs crap when cold you are in danger of the oil that has not burnt sticking in the combustion chamber etc.
I always use a heater but thats my preference.....my way of thinking is some extra heat is better than none !
