Enjoy your roast....I will look else where.
Good cos I is in no mood for diplomacy along with most of em on here
Enjoy your roast....I will look else where.
No bling ...just normal defender looks.....but with the comfort of a discovery/range rover.
someone somewhere must have transferred disco running gear & seats?
and your point is?With every successive model landrover have made they have made them more comfortable & more road oriented.
When the new defender comes it will appeal more to those that stay on the road than off.
I have found this anyway ....Nene can add further sound proofing, rubber matting in the rear, heated hi-back seats in the matching Defender cloth or leather, remove-reduce rear seat bulkheads, fit seat riser brackets to front seats to accommodate taller, larger drivers and so much more.
Thanks...a kind soul.Loadsa peeps have .. but to make a 100" off-roader ... well, on here anyway.
Trouble is a Disco/Rangy is comfier not 'cos of the springs etc (they're near as dammit the same anyway) or any running gear, or the seats, it's the whole package of how the bodies mount, the sound deadening, carpetting, everything is similar but different .. You'd need to remove every Defender panel and the floor and roof and clad them all then cover them to get anywhere near the comfort levels you seem to want .. in effect it won't happen.
Why not just buy a Disco and put Defender panels on it, I hear you ask. "For the same reason as above" is the reply .. Jeez even the bulkhead and bonnet have anti vibration/sound deadening on them on Discos.
OK, so the transfer box and thus the gearing is different, but not enough to make a great difference to comfort.
Must admit it's why I like a Disco .. almost the capability offroad with all the comfort .. though I'm curently removing most of that now ..![]()
Tis true the shape is a classic ..up there with the mini & beatle.Your 1st post didn't come across that way, when "big wheels" were mentioned:doh:. A nice idea, would be good to see a conversion of that kind as it is a classic body shape.
The point is that the market is changing...how many mums pick up kids in 4x4s.and your point is?![]()
If I want a 4x4 I want that Iconic shape of a defender not Q7/X5/Discovery/RangeRovers's
dont dissagree with thatThe point is that the market is changing...how many mums pick up kids in 4x4s.
Landrovers appeal to the masses not just farmers & true off roaders.
If I want a 4x4 I want that Iconic shape of a defender not Q7/X5/Discovery/RangeRovers's
thanks....just the place.Well good luck mate it can be done I wouldn;d want to but thats just me good luck on ya try TD5 alive they have some kitted road biased LR defenders
