    LT77 to R380

I have a LT77 still in my motor with 300TDI fitted. Thinking about a gearbox swap as its getting old and tired. Quite like the idea of a R380. Am I correct to think that a stumpy R380 is a straight swap for the LT77? Do I need a different bell housing or can I keep what I currently have? Thanks

What can be done to get more torque at lower revs. Friend of mine I RTV trial with has a 200tdi that just seams to have bags of grunt at no revs. Want to try and get more torque at lower revs from my 300tdi, what can I do?

    clutch adjustment?

Clutch was slipping last week so have been assembling all the bits needed to drop in a new clutch. I decided to get a newer clutch pedal also, the 300tdi one with the different spring to make the pedal a bit easier. Just put that on and set it up so the clutch pedal is the right height from...

How noisy is a heavy duty clutch?

How much noisier does a heavy duty clutch make the gearbox? It's clutch time for me and read a few threads that mention the gearbox being noisier at idle and read this on the ashcroft website also. Is it going to drive me nuts? Where is the best place for a heavy duty clutch fork, don't...

    Squeeling 300tdi

Hi 300tdi is squeeling a bit, thought it was the belt. Not doing it all the time, and when it does it seems to do it when the engines under load, knock it out of gear and it stops immediately. I have done a bit of searching and tried the suggestions, penny trick etc. In fact the...

    Speedo cable two parts

Speedo cables knackered so need to change it. Why did Land Rover make two piece cables, is there an advantage over having a single cable in one part rather that joined? Curious to know why before I she'll out on new parts... Ian

    brake calliper part number

Thinking of changing brake callipers as I think mine are knackered. Struggling to identify the correct part number. Mine seem to have 3247 4600 on the body but how does that match to the codes starting RTC? Want to make sure I buy correctly before shelling out my hard earned. Thanks Ian

    Trying to equalise steering

I have read a few threads and am now getting myself confused. Steering lockstops are wound right in equally. If I turn to the left I get more turns on the steering wheel but the tyre is about 1/2 inch from the radius arm. Turn to the right, getting a little less lock but the right tyre...

    Lift pump about to die?

Last few days my 90 is struggling to start. Used to just turn the key, no accelerator and it would fire up. Do that now and it fires then dies. Needs a boot ful of accelerator to start it and then it will run fine. Could the lift pump be on the way out? Cheers Ian

    Brake servo

Not really happy with my brakes, they work but don't really feel like they are working 100%. Have checked the vac pump and that's ok, checked the servo to see if the pedal sinks a little when you start the engine, that the pedal stays ok if depressed and engine turned off etc and the servo...

    Buying decent parts

There are loads of threads about the stuff in blue boxes! I think I need a new vacuum pump for my 300tdi and don't want to waste cash I something that might not stop me when I need it. I thought sometime ago that I read something that said a part number that ends in G is a genuine part...

    Ep90 or one shot grease?

Just getting round to an oil change post billing mud run. Axles done. Decided to do swivels as well. Looks like they have had one shot grease in them. Do I put ep90 in or stick with grease? I thought older land rovers were better with ep90? Mind you it might explain why the swivels...
