I have read a few threads and am now getting myself confused.

Steering lockstops are wound right in equally.

If I turn to the left I get more turns on the steering wheel but the tyre is about 1/2 inch from the radius arm.

Turn to the right, getting a little less lock but the right tyre rubs the radius arm.

I did think perhaps the drop arm isn't quiet aligned, read a few threads that talk about lining a hole up I the steering box with a feature in huge drop arm and have read other threads that say the drop arm can only go on one way.

Does the drop arm only locate in one position?

If so then I am guessing the steering wheel isn't quite correct on the steering column and maybe the steering arm is adjusted to compensate if that makes sense.

I am planning to put sumo bars on so am happy to pull it all apart and start again, I just wanted to make sure that the drop arm is right on the box before I start messing and completely mess it up :)

Thanks for any help, sorry for the long post.

Thanks James.

I had done my head in trying to get my head around it.

If the drag arm will only fit on one position then I think the drag link is set to short.

Based on this should I?

Set the drag link bar longer so the near side wheel is correct with the drop arm central.

Then set the tracking bar at the back to get the tracking correct.

Assume then that the steering wheel will need repositioning a little.

Should have equal turns lock to lock with same distance on each side tyre to radius arm.

Thanks.

could be other reasons , ive seen different offset wheel fitted, lhd drop arms fitted , but set box central ,theres a pin or drill bit can be slotted up through rear of drop arm in to box or count turns if not ,then set steering wheel ,then go for a run and note where steering wheel sits when going straight, if you then park up leaving steering wheel in that position ,adjust drag link to centralise steering wheel ,recheck on anther run and fine tune if necessary

how the feck do you get the steering wheel off?

loosened the nut and have been pulling with all my might and it wont shift...

Any top tips for this. its the last bit to do now and i cant budge the swine.

Cheers

Ian

Leave the nut on loosely so it doesn't smack you in the face if it comes off at speed and use some more brute force

If that doesn't work' you'll need to use/make a puller
