There are loads of threads about the stuff in blue boxes!

I think I need a new vacuum pump for my 300tdi and don't want to waste cash I something that might not stop me when I need it.

I thought sometime ago that I read something that said a part number that ends in G is a genuine part.

Found some that are ERR3539 and some that are ERR3539G.

Is this true or did I dream it?

Cheers

Tis true, ending with a 'G' means tis an OEM part, even in a blue box ...

A guy I know bought BPs G spec bushes and then compared them to the same part from LR main dealer, no comparison!!! LR bushes superior in every way!!!

But the "G" spec is better than the usual lotto type tat

only you can make that judgement, perhaps you could ponder it when the brake pedal has gone rock solid because there is no vacuum assistance and you're trying to stop in a hurry...

That's why I asked. Don't mind spending what is required. What I do care about is being able to stop and not using the car in front as some form of crumple zone...

I've just ordered a Bearmach one from LRS Offroad Shop |

Can't give you a price I'm afraid as he's a friend and so I get mates rates ;) He's always very very competitive though, so worth giving him a call for a price - he's usually at least a match for Paddocks and frequently cheaper.

NB The original one was made by WABCO. There are quite a few posts about brand new WABCO units failing quite quickly due to a defect, hence me buying a Bearmach one instead of OEM/Wabco.
