    td4 heavy clutch

Our 2004 td4 also had a heavy clutch when we bought it, i thought that was just how they are until i drove the loaner when ours was being serviced. Mentioned it to the garage and they changed the clutch slave cylinder, much lighter and easier to use afterward.

    Possible to Remove Passenger Airbag???

Asked our main dealer the same question, eg removal or fitting of a switch, and the answer was absolutly not ! We were lucky enough to find a used es spec that had been specified without the airbag from new. Officially that is the only way. Obviously there will be insurance implications for...

    cruise control manual

Need a bit of enlightenment. Why is it only auto box td4's have cruise control fitted ? is it possible to fit to a manual td4 ? i would have thought it unlikely that the loom was different, but can it be activated or does it need to be activated by a dealer.

    Installing an amp

Try a look under the drivers seat for the amp, ours is an 04 and for some reason the position of cd changer changed with the update. Ours has cd under driver, and amp under the passenger, sub in the boot floor where the locker is normally found. The sub is active (amp built in). Have a good look...

    Installing an amp

Can you give a little bit more info on the model of your car, and the standard stereo. If you have sat nav and harmon kardon as a standard fit there is already an amp (under passenger seat) and a small sub in the boot floor.

    2000 TD4 wont start.

No spitfires, but they are restoring a hurricane at Brooklands museum in weybridge, well worth a visit for all petrolheads. As a side note have a look on youtube, search for Brooklands merlin, they have got a fully running merlin engine on, basically, a metal pallet.

    Screeching Noise after engine start

    Which Freelander ?

Having had both an es spec v6 and now a 2004 td4 hse i would say just go for the td4 and enjoy it. most common problem is the maf sensor, but bear in mind, this year of car will still be under manufacturers warrenty any problems can be sorted before purchase and after test drive or soon after...

    Thinking of Buying a freelander

from a fellow sparky, we have had a 2000 v6 and now have a '04 td4 manual the v6 was an es spec (leather, heated seats, all electric etc) the td4 is an hse all the bits of the es plus heated screen and sat nav. Got to say around town there is not a lot in them performance wise unless you really...

New freelander owner after some ownership advice.

stepped and worn rear tyres on our 2000 model made a horendous and expensive sounding drone. New rear tyres quietened it right down. Dragging up from memory i believe its recommended to have the newest tyres on the rear, helps the drive train allegedly ! best of luck.

    v6 to td4

Hello to all. Just a few quick observations to anyone who is interested. After being the proud owners of a 2000 es v6 for just over a year, we have now become the proud owners of a 2004 td4 hse. Tried a few "normal" cars but were impressed only by their blandness ! The car does not have to work...

    servicing

Thanks for that, my parents have a fairly new td4 were qouted £313 for a second year service although their car has done only 18000 miles. A local garage qouted £115 and told them there would be no worries !

    servicing

Hi to all, we are after a little bit of information from minds immesurably superior to ours, can anyone clarify the warranty implications if your LR is not serviced by a main dealer ? Will this invalidate manufacturers warranty ? As a side note picked up our ( new to us ) td4 hse today having...
