    freelander fog lamps

Hi Mick, The relay lives under the bonnet near to or behind the near side headlamp. Mine was already fitted with front fogs. If you have the wiring test for power at the lamp ends with a multimeter when headlights are on and fog lamp switch pressed. Regards, Steve

    freelander engine swap.

Yes - i know it seems strange. Well, I never thought that I would buy a Freelander 1 (or be able to afford to), so after picking up a new freelander 1 gearbox for peanuts i decided to strip and see if i could make my old NASP Rover 220 a bit more economical. At a steady 70MPH in 5th gear, i...

    freelander engine swap.

I have attached some pics of my swap (yes back in 2005) I am certain that all input shafts are the same. Any questions - feel free to ask. Regards, Steve

    freelander engine swap.

Hi, The bell housing off the t series will fit the K series gearbox. You will have to swap that first, then the gearbox will fit your 620ti engine. I did the reverse (years ago) and fitted a freelander gearbox to a t series engine (for more economy). I just had to remove the freelander final...

    TD5 fuel fillter

Are you talking about rear fuel filter in O/S Rear Wheel Arch?? If so, they can be noisy especially when priming. - Did you follow the sequence?? Key in to Position 2, pump accelerator pedal 5 or so times in succession. Pump should then run for a few minutes. I have had a tone that changes as...

Discovery 2 headlights 1/2 full of water

Not heard of this problem before, but I would certainly try drilling two small holes in each headlight. One at the bottom and one at the top somewhere. My Freelander 1 rear bumper lights used to fill with water. I drilled a tiny 2 or 3mm hole, but the water would not drain out without a second...

    Speedometer Pulse

I managed to get a speed pulse from the wire mentioned above - simply spliced into it and wired to a spare pin on my radio ISO connectors. Have you checked your fuses?? also might be worth having a look behind the instruments - from memory there are two connectors at the back. On a 1991 Range...

    v8i economy

I would say between 15 and 20MPG. All depends upon service schedule, age / mileage of engine and how its driven.

    Clocked 150K :)

Thanks Mate :) Changed my VCU at 110K and rear diff too (Later bearing type). However old diff was ok as drone noise was rear wheel bearings. Have an offer of £500.00, so vehicle will be sold in a few weeks..... Regards, Steve

    Freelander 1 heated windscreen?

As long as the feed went to a relay, then yes this would work. If the screen size is the same for all models (Assuming so) then a retrofit would be possible - thought about it myself although changing cars..... Regards, Steve

    biggest tyre size

I have 215/75 R15 on mine. Still have about 20mm between the tyre wall and the shock absorber. Covered 17,000 miles like this and no issues... 225 should fit as it will be 5mm wider on each side.... Regards, Steve

    FL 2 2010 model.

I went to Eastnor and completed the courses in a FL2 auto. Was very capable - just keep your foot pressed and the traction control guides you through. Won't be using our new one off road - felt a lot of bangs / scrapes on the Experience one and wouldn't want to spoil :) Have Fun !!

    FL 2 2010 model.

I paid £18K for the wife's 2010 MY GS TD4_e Brand new (20% (£5K) employee discount & £2K scrappage allowance) Had a heated screen fitted for a couple of hundred quid extra. Would very much like to have a HSE, but a lot of money!! Very pleased with what we have above :) I notice that they are...

    1999 XEI radio issues

Would be simpler and cheaper to fit an aftermarket CD head unit. I would guess that someone has just thrown an R770 in. The radio display / clocks do fail after time. Regards, Steve

    Tweaters missing!!

I got mine from a rotten discovery in a scrapyard - I removed the A pillar plastics and they simply unscrew. I then removed from the mountings and popped them into my freelander plastics using a dab of glue gun to secure. Worked fine for the last four years :) Regards, Steve.

    12s electrics advice

There is a full kit - voltage sensitive relay and two relays for the fridge electrics and split charge. (Red and Blue wires to socket), all wiring, sockets and metal brackets. I paid only £40 for mine - have a look on ebay and also some of the parts suppliers. It could have been M&M 4x4 who had...

help with my new landrover tyres

Be careful - I think 235/65 R17 tyres will be too big and foul the suspension. On 225 55 R17, there was only a small clearance (say 5mm If I remember). I would be tempted to stick with the OE size or researcha little further -could be a costly mistake if they don't fit / get damaged...

Cooling fan on from start - L series FL1

Posted on behalf of a colleague - I don't know much about Doozels...... Engine has started to hunt a little - warm or cold revs fluctuate on idle. Cooling fan comes on as soon as the ignition switch is turned to position II. Does not happen all the time - often nothing then after 30 seconds...
