any particular reason why you swapped all the internals, rather than swapping boxes?

Yes - i know it seems strange. Well, I never thought that I would buy a Freelander 1 (or be able to afford to), so after picking up a new freelander 1 gearbox for peanuts i decided to strip and see if i could make my old NASP Rover 220 a bit more economical.

At a steady 70MPH in 5th gear, i managed to knock the revs down from 3000 to 2500 RPM. (and used to get around 40/41MPG)

I also thought that replacing the gears would be a good idea as they had done 150K at that time....

Looking back now, i should have kept the box and sold intact. However I did sell the final drive for £100....

The answer to the above question is a big fat no, the ird won't fit the t series pg1, however, the end plate from the t series can be notched to fit the ird bracket on the freelander box and 3 of the 4 bolts line up, I intend to weld another lug onto the freelander bellhousing to hold it all together, provided the ird clears the sump. I'll keep you updated, gotta remember my camera next time too
