These Freelanders are good :)

£550.00 purchase price for four years motoring covering 52K, bringing total to 150,000.

Shame it's going in a few weeks..... :(

You'll probably get advised to burn it in a bit. ;)

Mine hasn't done a third of yours but it's holding together fine. Although I think the VCU is due for a change.

Thanks Mate :)

Changed my VCU at 110K and rear diff too (Later bearing type). However old diff was ok as drone noise was rear wheel bearings.

Have an offer of £500.00, so vehicle will be sold in a few weeks.....

Regards,

Steve

impressive....... was this all on the same engine? or even same head gasket??

Has your disco done 150K?

Can a disco get to 150k before it rusts away?

All the best Steve, a good milestone before she goes......you'll miss the old girl, no doubt you'll be sticking around forum with the FL2 on the drive

good on ya, pleased to hear it's doing well. Mine's on about 110K and i'm going to push it as far as i can, though it's making some noises and losing both water and oil. It's possible for a Freelander to be a cheap runaround. Unfortunately it's also possible for it to be a very annoying money pit.

hiya

Ive got a TD4 auto freelander which has done 173,000 miles.

im going to give it a really good service in the next couple of months

It really drives nice , doesnt smoke and hasnt has an engine rebuild and on the same head gasket.

really impressed with it as this is the first freelander ive had, would defently have another one.

i saw on Ebay td4 engines that have got 50,000 miles going for £500.00.

would defently be tempted to drop another lump in once it reaches 200,000 miles.

as i think i would have alot of trouble selling it with that kind of mileage on the clock.

was wondering how do you stand if you put another engine in and replace the clock as well, is that illegal/

thanks again

very illegal.

mileage covered is for the vehicle as a whole, not just the engine.

unless you document that you have changed the engine and clocks, inform DVLA and declare it when you sell the vehicle.

thanks as always my friend.

wouldnt wish to do anything illigal or to try and rip somebody off,was just a thought.

if i did in years to come put a new lump in will just advise them of what mileage i dont it at.

thanks again

I used to own a disco, never EVER again, worst bag of pants on the road.

Paid £11500 for it, spent £5500 on repairs over the 5 years of owning it and in the end sold it for £1800 as scrap.

NEVER, EVER will I buy a rust bucket like a Discovery again.

Now. a freelander (dont know what a gaylander is, must be a copy/variant of a LR) has style, panashe, flair comparing it to a Disco thats a box of bones on wheels.

Say no more shall I.
