Hi/
I have just purchased a 1999 petrol 5 Door. All is well apart from 2 annoying issues
The radio is a R770 and there is no display where the clock is.
there must be power as it bleeps when you turn it on
I have the code, but what is wrong as I can not see any display is this a common problem.
Cheers,
Julian
There is 1 other issue but posted it on another thread.
I love the car but would like to know what may be the cause
Cheers:welcome2:

Could be the wrong code................Check the handbook for a plain postcard with two barcodes

On the bottom it should also have a 14 digit number starting and ending with an asterisk *

and on the LHS a 4 digit number (security code),

the 14 digit number should match the one on the head unit, you'll have to remove the unit to view the manufacturers sticker

I saw a website offering to provide codes for £7.50, the Land Rover R770 were taken straight from Rover and an oval badge slapped on

I have the code but the display on the dash where the clock is just shows the time and nothing to do with the radio which it should do.
Cheers

Would be simpler and cheaper to fit an aftermarket CD head unit. I would guess that someone has just thrown an R770 in.

The radio display / clocks do fail after time.

Regards,

Steve
