Guys,

A quick question. My front wipers have just started to stop wherever they like when on intermittent. :der:
I presume it's the Park switch and have done a search on the site for threads on this subject.

Some answers say that the switch is replaceable. Is this the case for a D1 300tdi ? or do I just replace the motor if the switch is integral ?

Where is the switch, is it inside the wiper motor or is it remotely mounted somewhere?
The Haynes manual is no use on this, no surprise there.

Cheers.

Yes switch is part of the motor but it's not shown as a replacable part in the disco parts book. The switch contacts may be burnt or just require adjusting, the motors gear box has a cover which can be removed for a look-see.

I would have thought that the arm wouldn't park at all not just on intermittent if the switch was faulty.

Cheers Guys.
The Haynes does show the switch inside the motor piccie on the wiring diagrams.
Yes, the motor fails to Park at all, but you have to go through the intermittent position to get to Off. Made for an interesting trip on the motorway yesterday when I really needed intermittent rather than full time.

I've had the same problem since I bought mine. I was under the impression that on the Discovery the switch is integral, and so a new motor is required to cure the problem. The Defender on the other hand has a setup where the switch is separate from the motor and may be replaced. You'll get used to using quick wipe instead of intermittent and correcting them yourself from now on lol

Cheers guys. Yes quick wipe is being used extensively and has now become the latest game in the wet. "Where will the wipers stop this time?" :D
