My lower cable of my steeringside ( passengerside for the UK...) just snapped.

I was looking on e-bay and I see that their are two kinds you can repair.

one is with the cables and the housing of the cables ( covers) and no glue needed, nu instruction manual

and the one just the cables ( no covers) and you need to glue these. but comes with instruction manual...

both are the same price

but which one is better to buy?

thanks

I recently bought the full kit with no instructions on eBay (sent from Turkey). It was a pain in the arse to strip down the regulator and fit all the new parts (especially re-tensioning the cables), and the lack of instructions meant stripping & rebuilding the regulator one component at a time. Took about an hour to rebuild the regulator from the kit, and failed after a few days (one of the nylon/plastic pulleys was too badly damaged by the previous shredded cable and the new cable keeps jumping off the pulley) so I've decided to just bite the bullet and buy a brand new regulator. My regulator was a real mess, with damage to two of the pulleys and the motor reel so I would take your door apart and check the condition of the regulator before deciding if a repair or replacement is needed.

I've used the glue repair kits with success, and have seen the ones from Turkey.... Now if the Turkish kits are made correctly to the correct lengths, they seem a far better option as they supply the centre cable reel also. These window regs are real easy to take apart and repair once you've done a few. And my advice is take a photo before you start and clean up any damaged pulley wheels with a tiny round file.

Repair time for the turkish kit should be no more than an hour out and back in again.
