I’ve just fitted a new window regulator to my freelander 2. All went well until final test. It seems like it doesn’t know where it is. When it’s stopped right down there’s 2” of glass still up and when it gets to the top it comes straight back down. I can only get it to stay up if I use the first manual setting of the switch and stop it just before it hits the top. I’m guessing some sort of a reset might be needed but the only one I can find online won’t work. Tia

It sounds like the motor isn't in the same position in relation to glass as it was.
Also long as the window goes fully down and up with the manual switch, the one touch function can be reprogrammed.
There are 2 ways to reprogram the window one touch function.
One way is to use a suitable diagnostic machine, and program the single window one touch function using that.

The other way needs no diagnostic equipment at all, but you will need to reset all 4 windows, and the clock.
For this method you simply disconnect the battery negative lead for 30 seconds, then reconnect it.
Once done put the ignition on, follow the one touch window programming process in the owners hand book.

Here's the instructions for resetting the one touch function.

Hope that helps.

It is a brand new regulator and the window won’t go all the way down so I can’t reset it it. I’m going to have to ring the supplier up Monday and tap their brains. Thanks for the help then

Did the regulator come with the motor?
