What type of engine are ya after mate?
Youre welcome to collect m old 3.9Efi V8 f free(out of RRC '90).....top end worn n clagged up with black death (run on petrol only), but someone who knows what theyre doin to recon (not me unfortunately...was easier to replace the lump, as i did) it would be worth saving surely?

That sucks penis that does :( , just the way some people are unfortunatly :( . You say that you have another motor ? cant you rob the other crap engine for bits and make a good one out the 2 ? .

There are some ****ers about  How much did you pay for it if you don't mind me asking?
150 quid, sposed to have done 70k

Engine is clean inside thiough and generally in good order but for the bent conrod, no wonder it was missin on the back pot:rolleyes:

So more than likely been hydro-locked at some point in it's supposedly short life. Did you do a compression test before you stripped it down? I assume that you will be checking all the rods and deglazing / re-ringing it before you re-assemble it?

Going to use the rods from the 200 I took out with new shells and rings and hone the bores as well.
Hope to have it all done by next week with the help of a mate of mine with enthusiasm:)

Name and shame him.....
Had it about nine months an bought it from a garage who ripped it out of a defender two years ago.

My own fault for being so trustin and not checkin it over first but then I wouldn't haved compession tested it any way. It did turn over ok etc and it fired up straight away when I put it in the 90 but it smoked a bit, couldn't get it to fire properly on No 4:)

Its bizarre that so many seem to think that ripping folk off on a motor is ok....it's theft, plain and simple and it ****es me off

True.
Too many t**ts out there after what they can get, regardless....
I took a chance wi my serp replacement engine...I took the guys word for it. Tho must admit I did have slight worries as I went to turn the ignition key for the first time!

I am a big believer in Carma...anyone who screws people over is gonna get themselves turned over at some time in the future

I went up Norf today with the Mrs to pickup a Tranny box Borg Warner which I won on Ebay at a very reasonable price. When I get there the poor guy which I have much sympathy for was not at all happy as he just picked up a LT230 for his 110 which was sold as GWO for £50 he had the bottom cover off and there was no teeth on the gears all smashed to hell. It seemes he had been ripped off aswell by someone which he was leaving phone messages with as I arrived. Not only did this **** him off but the whole enthusiasm for the job was at ots lowest. Me I'd have done more that a few phone calls but the poor guy was distraught. I offered him a tranny box I have here because I really felt for him.
