Haynes is useless.

the spin on is filthy

So just need some oil then do the filters.

But cannot fid the centrifugal!

I would add that the filter housing is made of compressed cheese - tighten bolts to correct torque carefully,or even to be prepared for the thread to come out attached to the bolt/s...

like one of mine did, when I undid it doing its first service after I bought it, managed to get away with fitting a longer bolt till next time round which I will rethread them both to the next size thread

Just thought I'd have a look inside my old centrifugal oil filter after 7000 miles... lined with an impressive layer of tar!

you should see the lorries I do !

certain trucks have re-usable centrifugal filters , they pop open and you scrape it out , I weighed the tar that came out of the last one ( supported on blue tissue , weighed in at an impressive 2kg !!!!

the stuff is so hard and compacted its a two hands and screwdriver to dig into it , mind you that's taken from over 35 litres ( 5 gallons ) of oil !
