Whats best for painting under arches ect?

As above really whats the best for painting under the arches on my RR classic? I'm needing somthing tough obviously as its gets blasted with chippings ect quite regularly .do i use the thick black underseal stuff or will somthing like the spray on waxoil stuff be any good?.What have you used or can anyone recommed?

I have previously used a couple of coats of stonechip and then once over with spray on waxoyl/underseal, seems to do the job.

I've used Dinitrol stonechip aerosol over the paint at the very edge of wheelarches, then overcoated with a colour match on a few cars now, and seems a very professional finish (orange peel bumpy close up). I would recommend it on sound paintwork.
I've also tried paint on thick waxoyl on slight rust, which did't work that well as it seemed to dry and still allow rust behind it. Perhaps on sound stuff or a thinner coat first would work better. It needed to have better adhesion to the base I think.

I once filled in the edge of the wheel arch with the thick stuff, and had no problems with silt build up

any places thats good for getting Waxoil and Body Schutz from at reasonable prices - i bin quoted £21 for 5L of Waxoil and £8/L of Schutz?

Machine Mart do Schutz fer bout £5 a litre, but I bought some from me local Motor Factors fer £3.99 a litre.

how much Waxoil do yu need to do a series Chassis yu reckon - 5 litres fur the car and 1 litre fur Mondo?

I got through 5 litres on mine - about 3 unthinned on the outside and 2 thinned squirted into all the orifices.
I mentioned that I got mine from my local motor factors for £3.99 because I thought you might want to try your local one!

I did, Trewy - the prices I quoted are from them - mite try Halfrauds tho.

It cost me 52 squid, ish ! t do mine that wer for the pressure can,2.5l, pump and hosey nozil squirter bit, the extendin nozil fer inside yer tight bits an orrificisis an a five liter top up can. I gorrem from alfs !
And i dint need t thin it, just leave it in red hot water fer at least arf n hour anits thin enuff!
And dunt fergit swarfeeeega fer gerrin it off yer bollix !

I used a 1L can of schutz from machine mart for the wheel arches & then refilled it from a 5L can of waxoyl to do the chassis & underneath on my disco TD5 ( had about 1L left of the waxoyl) - diluted with about 10% thinners but that was done in the hot weather in the summer

quickest & cleanest way is to borrow a compressor (if yu dont have one) & get 1 of these from machinemart (comes with extension probe to do inside box sections / doors etc )

think my 5L can was about £18 from halfrauds

cheapest on ebay is £19 + £8 delivery

I remember i searched the web for cheaper prices but couldn't get it any cheaper than halfords (when you take into account delivery)

just checked halfords website - £19.99 for a 5L can

Once Machine mart did a Deal £9 for 3 x 1l Cans, I took advantage to do my series 3 at the time. And it was Shutz Not an Immitation.
