Hi,

I am thinking of buying either a RR or Disco fitted with underslung lpg tanks, will this effect the off road capabilities or either, would i have to be more careful regarding the more difficult courses or will i have to stick to more gentle terrain?

I would be most gratefull of any comments from anyone with experience of this

Steve

Either:

Don't do it

Or manufacture some nice 4/5 mm steel guards. Similar to a 90 tank guard style.

You would be the first person to do it probably. If it works, get a few more made and get em sold!

spanked my underslung tanks on a previous v8, managed to relocate one of them 2" towards the rear end,
get some guards made up if your gonna do it.

as stated..only with guards, easy to make though...and with some lift,as really too low on standard springs.

DON'T DO IT !!
I've got twin undeslung tanks with a 2" lift and 33's and still knock them everytime. Got to the point yesterday when travelling down some deep tracks one got ripped off and hung down. Had to strap it up and limp home.

I'm moving mine to the boot before I go out again. Then I don't need to worry while i'm out - that's all you'll end up doing.
Then you can just have fun!

I spose it's one incentive to give up smoking.:p

I once had a Disco 3.9 V8 with the underslung tanks and initially they were a headache, especially after I ****ted one on a tree root and it came off.
I ended up with heavier duty tank straps, a four inch lift and 265/75 16 tyres just to get similar clearance and rampover angles to a standard Disco.
It was ok but I was crapping myself in rocky areas in Wales.
My advice is to have an LPG tank in the boot or be prepared to do extensive modifications.
