Hi All,

I’ve recent purchased (48 hours ago) a 1964 Series 2a 88’ and have a couple questions! My mechanical knowledge is close to zero - hoping this car will serve as an introduction to restoring cars. The car seems to be in great condition (just did the journey from London to Cornwall, happily cruising at 65mph). I’m yet to find anything wrong with it, already love it.
  • Is there a place I can go / please could someone give me, an indication into the value of this car at the moment?
  • Does anyone know of good beginners courses I can take (in either Cornwall or London)?
  • The car seems to have two fuel tanks, one under each seat. Is this the normal build, is there a way of switching from one to another?
Really appreciate any help you can give. Likely will have many more questions!

Thanks!

Sorry, but WTF. Surely as you have just handed over money for it, you are in a prime position to say what the value is????

Just curious to see if there’s a disparity between what I paid and the ‘value’, that’s all. I asked friends/family that were more in the know before buying it; however, curious to see what a wider audience thought!

Apart from some possible value added if it has "history" or not its all about condition, condition, condition. They are worth whatever someone is willing to pay and since you have paid "x" for it that is what it is worth. The next guy may have a different idea on how much it is worth to them, higher or lower.

Understood, thanks - assumed there may be loose brackets across the market based on condition.
